What I've Been Noticing Lately...

Lately, I’ve been looking back—not just in nostalgia, but in honest reflection.

I heard the song I walked down the aisle to recently—“Only Time” by Enya. I didn’t choose it for the lyrics at the time, but now? “Who can say if your love will grow, only time?” It couldn’t be more fitting. After 10 years, our love didn’t continue to grow.

It made me think about how often we’re given subtle signs—from lyrics on repeat in our heads to the uneasy stirrings in our bodies. We get these signals. We just don’t always know how to listen.

There was a time years ago—on the night I left a relationship, knowing deep down it was time—when my cats attacked a baby hawk. Yes, a hawk. One I had made eye contact with earlier that week. I ended up saving it, nurturing it for the night, and taking it to a rescue center. For years afterward, a hawk would visit me each spring. I believe it remembered me as much as I remembered it.

Only now can I fully understand the meaning of that moment: I was learning how to spread my own wings, but I wasn’t quite ready. 

I needed more support, just like it.

We all have moments like that when the universe sends a sign or there is a deeper meaning that we either ignore, misinterpret, or aren’t ready to see yet. But when we finally learn to listen to the message, we become empowered to change direction based on our inner knowing. We begin to come alive with energy, and it creates magic all around us. 

Ask yourself: Are you paying attention to the signs? 

Can you see the writing on the wall?

Quick Tip: When Something Feels Funny - Pause, Don’t Push

Here’s how to tune into what life might be trying to tell you:

1️⃣ Notice What Repeats – A song, a number, a dream, a memory. Life nudges us through patterns. The messages will be persistent.

2️⃣ Check Your Body’s Response – Does something tighten in you? Or do you relax at the thought? Your body responds to every thought, vision, and action. Pay attention.

3️⃣ Zoom Out Like a Storyteller – Pretend you're watching the movie of your life. What would the audience see coming? What lesson is the main character (you) about to learn?

4️⃣ Respond Before You’re Forced To – The earlier you listen, the gentler the lesson. Don’t wait to get kicked off the ledge. While the wind is still a gentle breeze whispering in your ear, leap.

What I'm Currently Obsessed With

Right now, I’m obsessed with reflecting on past versions of myself.

Eclipse season has a way of bringing the past to the surface. The memories of the person I once was and my choices many moons ago.

Easter and Passover symbolize the cycle of death and rebirth, liberation and identity. These traditions invite us to pause, to remember where we’ve been, and to notice who we’re becoming.

When I think back on the version of me from those past seasons, I see her differently now. I look at her with compassion and reverence.

She was under so much pressure. She tried so hard to do it “right.” She thought she had to be able to do it all alone. 

In hindsight, I can now see that I was supported in ways both seen and unseen—ways I still can’t fully comprehend.

The themes of this season remind me to trust life and its enduring ways. And one of those enduring ways is that we are ALL still children figuring life out.
