FEBRUARY NEWSLETTER

Aug 09, 2025

I sat down to open a meeting—water in hand, mind racing with everything I needed to do, when I knocked the glass over. Water spilled everywhere. Not a big deal, right? But in that moment, it felt like everything.

Later that day, as I was watering my plants and preparing to leave for a trip to Los Angeles, the hook holding my most prized pothos snapped. In an instant, more than six feet of lush green vines collapsed onto my bed with a wet, muddy plop. I barely had time to react before turning around to find my cat peeing in my half-packed suitcase.

Sometimes, life is just like this. Messy. Unpredictable. Laughably frustrating. And more often than not, these moments happen when things are already spinning.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed right now, you’re not alone. Whether you’re juggling work, family, personal challenges, or the weight of everything happening in the world, I see you. We all have those days, those seasons. And if you’re not in one right now, someone you love probably is.

This month, let’s talk about how to navigate these moments with more presence, patience, and grace… for ourselves and each other. While we can’t stop life from throwing chaos our way, we can learn to catch our breath, find solid ground, and take the next step forward.

What I'm Currently Obsessed With

Right now, I’m obsessed with vision boarding.

One thing about a vision board is that it reminds my subconscious of what’s truly important. It keeps me focused on the experience I desire instead of getting lost in the moment’s distractions. I’ve been fully immersed in creating visions for every area of my life, organizing my thoughts, and putting what matters most into a visual representation. It speaks directly to the subconscious, and that’s where real change begins.

If you’ve been feeling ungrounded, consider making a vision board. Not just for goals but for the way you want to feel, live, and show up every day.

Quick Tip: Break Free from Thinking Traps

When anxiety takes over, our minds can trap us in distorted thinking patterns that make things feel worse than they really are. The key to breaking free? Recognizing the trap and challenging it with truth.

Here’s how to check yourself when you’re spiraling:

1. Identify the Thinking Trap – Are you catastrophizing? Assuming the worst? Blaming yourself unfairly? Name the pattern. (Use the Thinking Traps Worksheet to spot common distortions.)

2. Challenge the Thought – Ask yourself:

  • Is this fact or fear?
  • What’s the actual evidence?
  • How would I view this if I were calm or advising a friend?

3. Reframe It – Instead of “Everything is falling apart,” try “This is a challenge, but I can handle it step by step.” (Use the thought record worksheet to work through anxious thoughts and shift your perspective in a structured way)

Reflections on the God-Given Gifts Workshop

The God-Given Gifts Workshop was beyond inspiring. It was a reminder that we all have gifts that were born within us—and that life, whether through joy or hardship, has given us opportunities to grow into them.

After this workshop, I am deeply moved to expand this offering, helping more people discover their gifts, align with their purpose, and serve in ways that feel natural, fulfilling, and effortless. When we operate in alignment with who we are, giving isn’t draining; it’s energizing.

To everyone who participated: Thank you for sharing your light. This is only the beginning.

Honoring Black History Month

Black History Month is a time to honor resilience, progress, and the generations who fought for change. But this year, it also feels like a warning.

We’ve come so far, yet we are witnessing hard-won rights and freedoms slipping away. Progress is never guaranteed… it must be protected.

Now is the time to stand firm in our values. To speak up, to support, to educate, and to vote at the ballot box every couple of years and every day with your money. The work is not over, and history is still being written. This is our opportunity to decide what side of history we are on. Choose wisely.

Closing Thoughts

You don’t have to do this alone. Whatever you’re facing, there is support. There are people who care, who will listen, who want to help. If you need that support, ask for it. And if you have the capacity, be that person for someone else.

Life will always be layered, chaotic, and unpredictable. But you are stronger than you know, and step by step, you will find your way forward.

Take a breath. Take a break if you need to. And when you're ready, take your next step.

With love and hope,
