What I’m Noticing

As the light begins to soften and the air grows cooler, I find myself reflecting on how fast this year has moved (it’s already the end of October!) and how much it has asked of us.

We’ve spent so much time trying to keep up: with the barrage of headlines, never-ending list of responsibilities, and the weight of constant uncertainty. Many of us are weary not from lack of care, but from caring deeply for too long without enough clarity on what can be done.

This is the time of year when nature begins to draw inward, and we’re invited to do the same, not to retreat, but to listen. To listen for what’s next, for what’s ours to tend to, for what wants to come through us before this season closes.

Listening to the call on your heart is the first step toward clarity and direction.

When the Patterns Return

Lately, I’ve been witnessing how often we circle back to the same challenges, the ones we thought we’d already worked through. Maybe it’s a goal you thought you were making progress towards, a habit you thought you’d broken, or the anxiety you believed you’d gotten rid of. Then something happens, and there it is again, familiar, frustrating, and humbling.

I see it in my clients all the time. One in particular stands out: a talented, ambitious professional who dreams of standing on stages and inspiring others through his story. Each time he plans to practice or an opportunity to speak arises, something inside him resists. Suddenly, other priorities surface: another project to finish, another reason to delay, or a better way to prepare emerges. Beneath it all is not failure or laziness, but a deep fear of being fully seen.

That’s where coaching comes in.

🍄 The Mario Analogy

When I was a kid, I used to play Super Mario for hours. Every level taught me something new, like how to time my jumps, dodge fireballs, or find the hidden blocks; each made the next step easier. And just when I thought

I had mastered it, a boss would appear.

You could never beat the boss by luck alone. You had to use everything you had learned from all the previous levels, the small moments of practice, the patience, the timing, and the power-ups you collected along the way.

Life works the same way. The things that feel hard right now are rarely brand new, they are calling you to use the tools and wisdom you have already gathered. You have been training for this, maybe without realizing it.

Here is the thing, when you are in the game, it is hard to see what you are learning. Coaching gives you that pause screen. It is where you stop for a moment to look at the map, notice what skills you have been building, and choose how to use them for the boss fight you are facing.

Sometimes the level you are on is not about learning something new, but about realizing how much you already know.

So, pause and ask yourself,

  • What have I learned on the earlier levels that could help me here?
  • What strengths or lessons am I underusing?
  • What if this challenge is not a setback, but the level where everything I have practiced finally comes together?

That is the value of coaching. It helps you recognize the moves you have already mastered and apply them with intention. It is the place where practice turns into power and where you stop playing the same level over and over again because you finally see what the next move is.

The Value of Coaching

As I prepare to fly to San Diego for the International Coaching Conference, Converge, I am reflecting on the massive impact coaching has had on my life and the lives of my clients and students. Coaching is not about fixing what is broken; it is about seeing what is truly getting in the way of having what you desire. A trained coach can help you identify the moments where self-protection disguises itself as logic, or when fear hides behind responsibility.

People use coaching in all kinds of ways,

  • Accountability: to follow through on what they already know matters.
  • Transformation: to uncover the deeper beliefs running the show.
  • Career or performance: to bring visibility, confidence, and leadership to the surface.
  • Life or spiritual: to create alignment between who you are and how you live.

If you have been feeling stuck in your health, relationships, or career, it is not because you have failed. It is because you are ready to see more clearly and find what ready to change and develop an effective strategy to actually accomplish it. The reflection from a trained professional can help you finally get unstuck and start creating the change you keep trying to make on your own.

Working with a coach is not about doing more; it is about doing what matters most, efficiently and effectively.

If something in this resonates, you feel an inner yes and you’re ready to move forward with support, I’d love to help you explore what that could look like.

Whether you are ready for a breakthrough, a fresh strategy, or simply need a space to think things through with someone trained to listen to the pattern beneath the surface, coaching can help you create the momentum and clarity you’ve been craving.

I invite you to book a free consultation and explore what’s possible, or just reply to this email and share where you feel stuck, and we can go from there. You don’t have to have it all figured out to get started. You can show up confused and overwhelmed and leave feeling grounded and clear. What do you have to lose?

A Personal Share

Before I became a coach, I was a pastry chef.

I spent years in kitchens where every day was a blend of creativity, chaos, and precision. At the time, I thought I was simply mastering recipes and techniques, learning how each ingredient reacts with others, how much air to whip in so a liquid could hold itself up, and how to turn a bride's vision into a sugary masterpiece.

Now, I can see that I was learning far more than baking. I was learning how to stay present, how to work under pressure, how to bring vision into form. I was learning the patience to follow a process that cannot be rushed, because precision in formula, timing, method, and temperature determines everything.

The more I reflect, the more I realize how nothing is wasted. Every experience teaches us something about our own inner recipe, and coaching is the process of uncovering the right mix of ingredients that make you work best. Some people need more structure, others more freedom, some thrive with warmth and community, others with solitude and space.

When I am coaching, I often feel like my old days of being a recipe wizard are coming back, just in a different way. Helping people recognize the ingredients they already have, the ones they need, and guiding them to adjust the proportions so their life rises the way it was meant to.

Sometimes what feels random or disconnected is actually part of a much larger pattern, preparing you for what is next. Just like in baking, the magic happens when all the separate pieces come together at the right time, under the right conditions, with the right amount of care.

This season invites us all to notice the patterns that connect the past to the present, assess what needs to change, acknowledge the work you have already done that has prepared you for what is next, and then make your moves and beat the boss.

“You can’t move to the next level by pressing the same buttons; you have to pause, notice, and play with intention.”
